I didn't get as much done this weekend as I would have liked to. Still have 'thank yous' to write and send out, some cleaning/picking up to do - but that never ends - and I still have some reading to do. However, I did get some things done. I was able to clean the kitchen and all those dirty dishes that were piling up and taking over, and I was able to read a little in one of my books, and even finished another.
My time out w/ a friend Saturday was great, and much needed. It was a beautiful night and we were able to get a table in the open wall @ this little place in the city. I love the city in the summer and eating outside!
Olivia's 12mo check up went great, shes 17lbs 5oz and 23in, everything looks great he said and she can start eating peanut butter, and drinking milk if she'd like. So far, shes not into the cows milk.
I wanted to just touch on the book I was able to finish this weekend. My mother in law gave me this book by Francine Rivers, a big thick book, and at first I wasn't really sure. I don't read very much to begin w/ and 496 pages is a lot! She had told me about it though and that she couldn't put it down, so I thought why not give it a try.
It was Amazing!
I couldn't put it down either! I would stay up reading it, not watching tv or catching up on FB, but reading this book! Its part of her Mark of the Lion series, A Voice in the Wind is the title.
I'd also like to state that I'm not really into history, and again I'm not into reading. This book was filled w/ both! I can't wait to get the next one, and read more. Shes an amazing author, keeps you and holds on to your imagination till the very end, and leaving you wanting so much more of the story.
What are you reading this summer? Any suggestions for this non reader? If you get a chance I highly recommend this book!
I know you posted this last year BUT I wanted to tell you that I just finished the first book and have started on the second one. I'm really excited to read all three!! Such great books!! You're right, I couldn't put the book down haha look for a blog about my thoughts on the first one.
