Week of Thanks - Occupation

In addition to being a mother, I was just hired by a local chain pharmacy. This of course is a paying position, unlike my other job that is on volunteered basis.
When Mark and I first started talking about this - for me to go back to work - I was dragging my feet, and wanted desperately not to have to do this.
For a few reasons, I was scared. It had been three years sense I was in a paying job, outside our four little walls.
I didn't want to give up my day job. I have been at home sense Kaia was born. Apparently - from myself making this assessment - I am a bit of a control freak. Giving up the area in which I have the most control over was killing me!
And lastly, I just didn't want to exert too much energy into something I wasn't interested in doing.

With any type of change there is always sacrifice. This has been my something to give up. Being an ESAHM - exclusively stay at home mom-
Now that I've rehashed my dislikes with having to go back to work, did I mention its only part time and that Mark is the one staying with the girls while I'm there?-
I can talk about the  reasons this transition has landed in the 'Thankful Pile'.
I'm thankful to have a job, that pays decently. I'm thankful that we don't have to pay for child care. I'm thankful for the just enough time away to be an adult, and exercise my mind.
I'm thankful - again - for Gods provision and taking care of us, in providing for all of our needs, and most of our wants.

What about you? Whats an area in your life that you are thankful for now, that you might not have been as thrilled about in at the beginning? I'd love t hear about it!
