Yes, I have managed to make it through 3 1/2 years of parenting with out a nasty tummy issue, with out hanging out in the bathroom for the night, or sleepless caring of little ones, my whole career. Thanks to a few chicken nuggets from Wendy's this past weekend my time was up. I spent all night, and most of Sunday afternoon w/ two little girls tag teaming their sickness on me. What I hated the most was not being able to do anything for them. Its such a helpless feeling
After a very good nights rest - finally - they are back to their selves this am! I'm thankful it wasn't worse. . . .
It also got me thinking, what was Jesus like as a baby? How did Mary handle the care of her sick baby? Was Jesus every sick? Did he get sick from chicken nuggets too? Ok, maybe not, but my point is, I'm sure she had to take care of sick baby too, I'm sure she went through all the motherly things that I go through. . .
I'm seeing this Christmas through a whole new light, as a mother - I'm not sure why its taken 3 years. And I can't help but think about that verse -
Luke 2:17 - 19 NLT
'After seeing Him, the shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angle said to them about this child. All who heard the shepherds story were astonished, but Mary kept all these things in her heart and thought about them often. '
Just a young mother, with a very special gift to share with the world. . . What a responsebility! And what a blessing to be the one to hold and comfort him when he was sick, and play and laugh with him as her grew. . . I want to be that kind of mother - to treasure all these things in my heart and think of them often. I want to cherish every moment, even the sick and tired ones.
I'm happy to post these cute little pictures of girls who are feeling much better!

What an interesting perspective - thinking of Christ as a sick baby! I'm sure it happened. Happy to hear your girls are doing better and thank you reminding me of the wonder of being a mother just as Mary was. Brings the Christmas Story into a new light.
