Its 'That' Time of Year

Growing up I never much cared for this time of year. There seemed to be more stressful people, arguing, and Scrooge like Bah humbugs than Merry Christmas. . . This is not a pity party post, nor a walk down memory lane for me, just a reminder - for myself - as to what this time of year is really about.

Family, friends, peace on earth, good will towards men, celebrating the birth of a little baby that changed the world forever, eating lots and lots of very yummy treats, and I guess we can add in there that 'Christmas Spirit' that's always talked about. I love getting together w/ friends and family and enjoying one one another. I also protect these times now that I have children of my own, on the type of setting we are in - stress free, inviting and peaceful environments. I want them to enjoy this holiday season and feel comfortable and full of joy and excitement, and the 'Awe of Christmas'. Not preparing for the worst and guarding up for whats to come.

Weather or not you believe in Christ, this holiday stems back to a very small things, a common thing - the birth of a baby - that changed the world forever in a very big way! I want to celebrate the freedom that this holiday means for me and my faith. I want to teach our girls that with out this holiday our faith wouldn't be. Its a great time of year to be celebrate and rejoice!
