From Across the Court

My little sister was in town and Mark got us tickets to go to a UB basket ball game. I love watching live sports - and college basket ball is lots of my favorites! This game was a close one from the start - they were playing Kent State. It was about half way through the first half that I noticed this lady with 3 little kids. I noticed her beige pumps and super skinny jeans that fit like they were meant to, her pretty sleek black hair, and the grace in which she carried herself. . .
There was something else though, something big was missing.

Of course I turned this whole observation back on myself, and wondered what people see when they see me. Do they see light, hope, and peace? Or do they see frustration, anxiety, and worry?
Do they see Christ?
I know they don't see stylish pumps and cute skinny jeans, and perfect hair.
I've accepted my lack of style in life - its just not one of my strong areas - plus I hate wearing heels : )

Really though, my point is; how do we see what God sees in us and share that with others? How do we share hope and love and not focus on our own self too much - I can get a little carried away with myself.

So for today - two questions - whats your style, and what do you hope people see in you, from across the subway/room/court? I'd love to hear, if your willing to share.

  1. That's a good question....and one that I've struggled with myself. I'll have to get back to you on that one. ;-p
