The cutting out of cabinets and tearing down or endless wall paper has begun. We are in full 'redo-new-house-mode' and along with that I have a lot of decisions to make. I thought this part - picking out everything to go in - would be the easy part, but I'm finding it to be a little over whelming. Because EvErY ThInG has to be redone - cosmetically - eVeRy tHiNg new has to be picked out.
I think the paint I'm set on - just going to run it by my designer aunt for the approval - and the floors for the bathroom was an easy choice. There is much to choose, I'm excited to be doing this, I just hope it all turns out looking ok, and flows together.
What an exciting journey - we get to create a home and make it our very own! What a blessing to be able to do this. I know this new home will be our adventure and I'm sure the projects will never be done, it will be a work in progress.
Personal note - I hope that in my own life I can be a work in progress - always changing for the better, being updated, torn down and redone with something more. I think that's how God intended us to live - striving to be more like Him, making changed that show more of Him in our lives. I know there are areas of my life that I want to keep that outdated wall paper, and maybe even paint over it, but how much better is it to paint over a clean smooth wall? Tearing down the old can be hard, and maybe even uncomfortable at times, but the end result will be well worth it!
Bet you thought this post was just about the renovations that are being done to this new purchase! I like how some things just pop up like that. So, are you working on tearing down the old, and keeping things fresh, or do you have a harder time letting go of the old to make way for the fresh and new?
