A First Of Many

Of course I didn't get any amazing wonderful pictures of my little event I had. Of course I thought through the whole thing 'I've got to get some pictures of this!'
Oh well - there will be many more to come! Here is the only one I managed to capture.

I had the great opportunity to share a vision that's been on my heart for the last year and a half with some ladies. Some ladies whom I share the same role with - that of pastors wife. There were yummy treats - white and dark chocolate covered strawberries, cheese fondue, fresh bread - and of course delish Mocktails!

I think anytime you do something new there is always a fear of what will happen. Most of the time they unrealistic fears of things that will never happen. For me on this night it was the fear that no one would show up, no one would have a good time, or that it wouldn't be relevant or applicable.
I feel pretty confident saying that it was none of those fears I had running around in my little head! It was just what I had wanted it to be - a time to connect and meet other ladies, to share our stories and encourage each other. It was all that!

I think its so important in our lives to have times like these, time to be encouraged and hear from others. No matter what field your in - a stay at home mom, career driven, book worm, foodie, pet lover, or in community service - we need to hear from others going through the same things we are.

What about you? How do you stay fresh and relevant in your life/field? How do you gain encouragement for where you are right now? Do you share your experiences with others to help them along? I'd love to hear.
