I'm really enjoying this devotional! {first post about this devo} I will admit I fell a few days behind, but I'm doing this with a friend - who by the way lives several 100 miles away! I'm so thankful for technology! - and thats been helpful to keep me going and get back on track.
One day thats stuck out to me was the topic and the importance of praying over and for our children. How one of the most powerful things is a mother who prays for her children to grow and know Him. Such simple acts and words and how very powerful the results can be. Our responsibility as parents is to teach and model Gods ways and principles to our kids. That they would know Him and develop their own real relationship with Him. The power in our words are like no other and when we bring them to the Lord and pray to Him for those around us - be it our spouse, children, friends, or family member - big things can happen!
Lives have been changed because of prayer.
Lives have been made new and whole because of prayer.
Broken and destroyed relationships have been whole because of prayer.
What a huge undertaking that is if you think about it! I'm so glad I serve and follow a God that taught us how to pray and that it is as easy as talking to a friend. There is great power in our words
Prov 18:21"the tongue can bring death or life . . . "
I want a mouth filled with encouragement, life, Joy and praise! I know there is nothing good that comes from words that are filled with nagging, discouragement, and death. That I would be a mother full of life giving words and Joy and peace and praise.
There is power in our words - power in our prayers. Why not take all our worries to Him and place our lives and our children's lives in His hands. He is with us and will help guide us - help strengthen us and use us for Good!
