Down the Hall

Who would have thought - I never did - that we'd be living in NYC, apt dwellers w/ no future plans of being home owners any time soon.  All of our friends who live in other areas of the country have bought houses, or will be buying soon. We don't have a nice big yard, we don't have a white picket fence, and I'm not sure if I want any of that.

In our last place, the older couple that lived next to us were so sweet, and loved Kaia and I enjoyed talking w/ her on our balcony. It seemed easy to meet and get to know the people in our other building more so than it has been here. We know the people that live across the hall from us, the family that lives next to us, and last night we got to know a family @ the other end of the hall.

They have a little boy who just turned 4. He plays very well w/ Kaia, hes gentle and sweet w/ her - very cute to watch. There were some of there other friends there as well it was great getting to know some other people in the neighborhood. We figured out that all 4 couples had been together for about the same amount of time - only I'm  certain that we were the youngest! - and we all have kids about the same age, w/ in a few years of each other anyway. B, the host of the nights events, is so hospitable, warm and welcoming. I saw her the other day out front of our building, and she said, 'What are you doing wed. night?! Come over, we're having a little pizza party for our son, please come. Oh, and I have some things to give to you . .. . ' We got to meet another lady who lives in our building as well - she was hilarious! Had Mark and I laughing the whole time she was there w/ her stories. Its such a nice feeling to be part of a community w/ others.

As for the rest of yesterday, Kaia didn't play w/ anything else but her kitchen all day. Like I thought, she LOVES it! Today we are going to Astoria Pool w/ some girls, I hope my girls do alright. I'll take the camera w/ us to get some shots of them, and post them soon - enjoy your day!
