Mark has a HUGE family. I was really excited when we got married, that I was now part of such a large group of people. The best part about them is that they aren't really normal - who is? - but so much fun to be around. I have a very small family. There is only 1 cousin, and 4 aunts/uncles and their significant others. Mark has 7 anuts and uncles - who are all married and all have @ least 1 child. When we all get together thers about 70 of us! So this weekend one of the cousins got married, and what brings family together like a wedding?! Everyone came, and we all staied @ the same hotel which was fun to have everyone together.
Kaia also celebrated her 2nd birthday on friday - which happened to be the same day of the wedding, and the day we went on a great sail boat cruise. It was so nice to be w/ everyone for her birthday, we got a little cupcake and a # 2 candle and everyone sang to her.
I can't believe that its been 2yr since we welcomed her into our lives! Shes such a big girl these days, and a big helper - I guess when your a big sister your a big helper too!
We are learning our manners and how to say 'please' and 'thank you'. The twos are hard work, for her and us. Being little makes for challenging times, and rough communication. Her biggest frustration for me is the stupid pacifier! She has 2 - one for the crib, and one for the stroller. Up until a few weeks ago she never had it any other place, but now she wants it all the time! Ahhhhh! There is nothing more annoying to me than to see a toddler, walking around w/ something in their moth - be it their fingers, or a pacifier! And yes, if she doesn't have the pacifier, its her fingers. I don't know what happened, she never use to put anything in her mouth. All this has started since Olivia came home. I hope it really is a phase she goes through, then again, I am the mommy, I could just take it away and that be the end of it.. . . .
In my life, outside of being a mother, wait, I'm not sure there is that side of me. . . . I'm trying to think, nope. *sigh* I was hoping I could talk about something other than my children, or life as a mother of young little ones.
I will leave w/ this cute little picture - Marks parents were up a few weekend back, and brought w/ them our oldest neice. Kaia and Sarah were taking a bath and when I went in the bathroom to check on them Kaia looked up and said 'no, bye, bye, bye!' Both little girls has very prunee feet when they did get out! gotta love the simple joys of taking a bath!
