Its been another cold week here in the North East - Burrr.
Last week we had another huge storm and theres still snow all over the place from it. Here in Queens, theres not really anywhere to put the snow after its been plowed, so it piles up on the sidewalks and @ the corners making it rather hard to cross the street, or even walk.
This morning on our walk to church, one of the blocks wasn't cleared so well. Most of it had been cleaned, but there were a few homes that hadn't done anything. So, Kaia and I are walking down this trench side walk, @ least a foot and a half of snow on either side of us, and then parts that were narrow so that we couldn't walk side by side. Mind you, I'm caring Olivia in the Ergo holding Kaias hand, and then we come to the narrow icy part. Good thing I had Kaias snow boots on! She did so well, and so did I, neither one of us fell. I'm sure Olivia would be happy to know how safe she was.
At church this am - we kicked off a big series called 'Bod 4 God'. In case your wondering, its about honoring God w/ our bodies, not just eating well and getting in shape. Although thats a good thing too. Seemed like we had a good turn out, and lots of first time guest! We were giving away lots of great things - the 'Bod 4 God' books, t-shirts, 1 free week @ a local gym, and gift cards to a sports store. I think its going to be a great next couple of weeks, and I'm really looking forward to whats to come!
Our growth groups start next week, and I'm co-leading a moms group and can't wait to start and get into the book. I'm getting a little nervous though, we're doing a moms/kids group on friday mornings and we already have 10 kids. I'm not sure our little apt will hold everyone! I know it'll be ok, and everything will turn out just fine, but thinking about the numbers and looking @ the space . . . I'm trusting God to turn my 5 loaves and 2 fish into more than enough : )
Wow! That's great you have such a good sized group already. Uka and I are co-leading for the first time this semester. He's been in my group before when I led but after taking a hiatus from the engagement, wedding and baby we're ready to get back into the swing of things.
