I'm not going to blame my mother for my issue w/ card sending/giving, but she wasn't much for sending/giving card, or doing it on time. Not that I remember, if she was I must have been sleeping during that lesson. Its not that my lack of organization is her fault, I am a grown woman after all.
The last few time in which a card was a suitable offing I have failed and ended up scribble a few words on a little note card and presenting that as my gift instead. I guess a few heart felt words are better than a cheap old card, or nothing at all, but the rushed attempt to pull it off has left my words a little less than desirable.
I've allowed this to happen twice to me now in the last month. I was on the way to meet a friend for dinner, who was moving and while on the train writing away to get the perfect words down before my stop came.
And then there was the friends birthday dinner I was going to - must be a dinner theme going on here - and again I was rushing to get my thoughts out on the paper before I arrived.
Both times I was able to get the right words out and across to the readers, but it was not the neatest or very pretty.
I don't normally make 'resolutions' but the last time I did it was to be more organized and make a better effort at getting birthday cards out - needless to say I didn't follow through on that, and I'm no closer to being organized now than I was when I made that resolution.
What are your problem areas? How do you keep at them and improving to get better/grow in that area?
