I hate cleaning. I hate doing dishes, to me cleaning any other room in the house/apt is just as much disliked as the kitchen. I don't mind vacuuming, or sweeping, but do I have to do it every day! Come on!
I think living in the city makes the apt more dirty which is even more of a reason to be cleaning ever day, but I don't.
I think of cleaning as such a chore! I want to clean and then not to have to do it again till a week later. Maybe if the rest of the people in my house would just clean up after their meals, wash their own things, it might not be such a big deal - Hear that Kaia and Olivia! Get w/ it girls!
I know, very unrealistic expectations to place on my little ones. I will say that I'm very blessed and thankful that Mark cleans my most dreaded room in the house - the bathroom! - for that I should say thank you to him more often. He also is very helpful w/ our laundry.
But what I really hate, and that neither one of us do @ all, is mop. Our floors are so gross! Its embarrassing really. Now that Olivia is crawling I'm noticing more, her clothes are getting dirty on the knees and feet. Looking @ Kaia's feet I can see it too - So embarrassing to admit.
I've thought that I should put an add out for a volunteer cleaning person to come in once a month, or even better every other week and mop and clean the floors real well. Theres no way we can afford to pay someone, and like I've said I don't wan to do it!
Then yesterday I saw this card was left in front of our door
Its hard to see, but its for a cleaning service. On the back it says they'll give me a free estimate, and that they offer weekly/biweekly/monthly services! Yes please! Sign me up now!
What chores do you hate doing? And if you know of any free cleaning services please let me know!
I hate cleaning the bathroom too! bleck! Our kids favorite toy at a friends house is a pretend mop. Perhaps the girls can get that as a gift from a grandparent and play mop their little hearts out! ;)
ReplyDeleteThere IS hope though. My kids at ages 7, 5 and 3 are THRILLED (most days) to do a chore or two without complaining. Pretend your least favorite ones are FUN and they'll BEG to do those. muhuhaha (evil laugh)
I'm always a tinge jealous of those that can afford cleaning help but alas that is a no can do at our house too.
I don't do a good job mopping regularly either. The thing that has helped me out, since I also have one that cleans the floor with their clothes, is just spray the floor with cleaner and wipe it with a paper towel. It only takes 2 minutes and makes things better between a good cleaning. I do this in the bathroom. Of course even better than this is the cleaning wipes, just wipe it up and toss it away. Such a good thing for the busy mommy!
ReplyDeleteLadies You have shared some great and very practical ways for me to keep up w/ this! I'll give that a try Erin - I guess it'll just come down to me doing it : ) hehe
ReplyDeleteTerri We can dream about having help to clean our house right?! I mean professional help - till then Kaias getting a broom and a mop!
Mopping is the devil's work.
ReplyDeleteI really, really, really loathe mopping.
