As a tradition with my husbands family - one that my mother in law and I have continued over the last 6 years - is one of backing Christmas cookies. This year we continues in our tradition and even added a twist - the kids!
I know you might ask why haven't they been involved up till now. . . have you ever tried to bake with small children? No thank you!
I have to state that this years endeavor was spurred on by my lovely sister in law, and seeing as she has two girls - ages 7 and 9 - and asked if we - meaning my girls and I - wanted to bake cookies. I thought it was time to start letting them in on this - up till now - adult tradition.
Here are a few pictures of our very fun, enjoyable, peaceful, stress free, semi clean, cookie backing, new traditions making endeavor!
What are some of your Christmas traditions, with, or with out, kids? Are you a baker or taker of a baker? How do you celebrate the holidays with your family, and friends? I'd love to hear!

So much fun!! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like they had a fun time! I LOVE making cookies but growing up my mom made it into a chore. She had a really specific way that everything had to be done, but I have fond memories of eating them. I hope to get Nia involved next Christmas. While I was making them this year I held her up every so often to see what I was doing and she definitely showed an interest.
ReplyDelete@joanna yes it was
ReplyDelete@quiana I'm just like your mom - thats why I was glad to have my sil to organize and do it all : ) little Nia will love it next year, just keep in mind that its not about the finishes product, its about making memories and traditions, she'll get as she gets older!
