A Gift of Life - Spreading Awareness

During our time in  NYC - the too short time we were there - I made some very dear friends. I've posted on here before about our wonderful neighbors who lived down the hall from us, about all of our wonderful friends from the Journey who were always there for us helping and being great! And I know I've talked about my fabulous friends from the park - our second home during the summer.

The first lady I met at the park was Amy. My life will never be the same! Her daughter and Kaia had a very cute sweet and sisterly relationship. They loved to copy each other, and in the process annoyed each other very well. She is an amazing lady - she would give you her last dollar if you needed it, she loves to share anything great she has, like new recipes or her 1st year birthday cake pan.

Right now Amy's niece, Nora, is going through a rough time. She has severe Aplastic Anemia and is in need of a bone marrow transplant. I remember Amy talking to me about this, when Nora was first diagnosed. As a mother  I can't imagine what Nora's mother is feeling and going through. I felt completely helpless when our girls were sick a few weeks back, and they were just throwing up! But they got over what they had after a day. . .

There is a positive - there are organizations set up, and thanks to the web there is a lot of info out there about it. The word and awareness for all this can get out and around quickly. So today, instead of an insightful few words I would ask are you open to helping out? Here is Nora's story would you check it out? Would you go to marrow.org and see how you can get involved and would you be willing to donate your marrow as well? I know I will, I've already checked it out and there's a drive in my area in January. I want to be as good of a friend as Amy has been to me, this is part of being a good friend, helping each other in time of need. Will you help me do what you can?

Thanks for reading today and getting involved!
