Week two is already here! I think I might not mind Mondays for the next couple of weeks : ) LeadingAndLovingIt continues in their JustOneConference and again another great line up of ladies I couldn't wait to hear from. Here they are -
First we heard from Makeda Pennycooke, from Freedom House Church in Charlotte NC. Also from Charlotte, Holly Furtick at Elevation Church. Julie Richard in Austin TX, at Lake Hills Church. Tricia Lovejoy from Mountain Lake Church, in Cumming GA. And Lisa Hughes from Church by the Glades, in Coral Springs FL.
Now that you know a little about who these ladies are - here are my top two points I took away.
1. We can't be who are aren't. God has place specific gifts and talents in each one of us that no one else can do as well as we do. Understanding and embracing those abilities is who God has created us to be. When we start acting and living out who He created us to be we can do amazing things - in accepting what we've been called to do!
2. Reading and using to bible as my guide for who I am to be, and communicating with Mark as my husband - asking how I can best be of service and used in our family/church - are both real and true sources of strength. Who knows us best and what we can do than our creator, and who knows us better, on earth, than our spouse? Why not ask them first before jumping to conclusions on who we think we are suppose to be.
I'm still trying to understand and use my gifts. I know that in each stage of life I am to be used in a different way, this is an area I continue to change and is always new. But what about you, what are your strengths and how do you use them, in your family or church. If you were able to catch this weeks conference, I'd love to hear what you took away - your top two take aways. I'm going to try and catch it again this am at 11, thinking I couldn't gain something the second time around : )
