This past Friday evening we put in an offer on our first home. Very exciting, and very nerve racking. After just 2 counter offers, and bout and hour of time, both sides agreed on a price! The process has begun on official paper terms, legally its started. We still have a long way to go, and at this point there are no guarantees.
One thing that I didn't realize in this process was that I would find something I didn't eve know I wanted. I had told our wonderful Realtor Ann Kwitchwoff, that I wanted a ranch, single level home. Funny how what you say you want may not always be what you think you want. The minuet I walked into this home I was sold. Its full of character, hard woods, and lots of old wall paper. I hope that with a little work- mainly on removing the wall paper, and with a lot of pain - this house will be a home for us!
Of course this whole transaction really depends on the home inspection, and all the other things that are hinging on a real close date. But the first step has been taken and we are moving forward on this little home buying journey! More pictures - before and afters - are to come, if we make it that far *fingers crossed*
What about you - are you a home owner? How was your experience? Did it take you a while, or did you know just what you wanted and there was no room or time to look at what wasn't on your list? Every experience is different I know that, and I'd love to hear yours!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I'll be praying for smooth sailing here on out. Are you glued to HGTV??? ;-)
ReplyDeleteYes, Joanna, we might put you two to work when you're here. We'll see!
ReplyDeleteThanks Quiana! we're really exciting, now I'm going a little crazy looking at colors and decor! I'm excited to decorate and settle into a place I don't plan on moving out of any for at least 10 years : )
