Money Money Money

This past Sunday, my talented hubby Mark taught at our church. He is on staff as the executive pastor and teaches about once a month. I think he always does a great job, I love hearing him teach. I think he always has something relevant to say, and practical steps to give allowing the listener - if they choose - to make changes in their life.
This Sunday was no different. Maybe its just been a while sense last I heard him, or maybe it was just really that good of a message, whatever it was I enjoyed it!
He warped up a series we've been in called 'Weird - Because Normal Isn't Working' and the subject matter was - Money!

Just what people love to hear talked about in church. This wasn't your normal
'give the church all your money'
message, or
'You are a bad Christian if you don't Tith'
message either. This was different. This was about looking at some passages of scripture, and seeing the contrast between people who do 'normal' things with their money like -
living outside their means,
living pay check to pay check,
accumulating lots and lots of debt,
not having a plan
and those who choose to do 'weird' things with their money -
have a plan
save
tell their money where to go each month
set a budget
don't live on credit
can have a life with less stress and less troubles. This was about giving tools to those who want them when it comes to finances, and not about asking for their money. This was about looking at how not being responsible with our money can lead to ruin.

This was a great message! Have I mentioned that yet? Even if you don't like money, if you're not good with money, or your great and financially stable, this is worth listening to.

You can check out this message, and the others in this series at akronfree.org

I'd love to hear what you think, and maybe even what you took away from it.
