Easter - Everything About It

This was the first year that we colored eggs with the girls. My sister was in town and it was her idea. Messy crafts like those make me twitch when I think about all the things I'll have to clean up and the possible mess it will create, the stains that will be imprinted on their clothes and melt down that I'm sure will come at the end when we are finished.
I gave in though, and said sure, they can color eggs. Joanna - my sister - stepped up and took care of the whole thing! Here are a few pics from that fun time.

Last year they had their first 'egg hunt' in out little apartment with their cousins who were visiting. That too was my sister in laws idea, shes an experienced mother, especially when it comes to holidays. I need to get with it, I have a lot to learn!

Here is a picture of Easter Sunday - All the girls in their bunny ears, except Olivia, they all were happy to wear their ears. I won't say how long it took for us to get this shot.

My other thoughts on Easter? This is the holiday that makes my faith, my Christian faith so different. I worship a Living God. I worship a Loving God. I worship a personal God that really cares about me. He cares when I have a bad day, He cares and is glad when I'm having a good day, or when exciting things are going on in my life. He is personal, He is Alive, He is Amazing, He is Loving. He is So much! And this holiday helps me to remember and see what He has done in my life. I'm very thankful that I have this relationship, that my marriage is centered on this relationship, that my children will grow up learning and being immersed in a family that values and teaches that the living God loves them, and wants to have a relationship with them!

What is your favorite part of Easter? What are some special traditions you have or remember during Easter? I'd love to hear about it.

  1. Thanks for letting us color the eggs. :) I, too, was nervous about the messiness but was happy that they enjoyed it. It was a fun time to spend with them!!
