Hows the Weather?

I grew up in North Carolina, I grew up with hurricane season, I grew up with massive thunder storms in the summer that would pop up and then be over before you knew what was happening. I grew up with very mild winters - if we had a few snow flurries everything shut down.

I've never been out west, but couldn't imagine dealing with earth quakes that come with no warning. Or in the mid west where tornadoes come through with a vengeance and again, not much warning.
Weather patters are as different as the areas they take place in. The south east is nothing like the mid west, just as the west coast is nothing like the north east. Each has its own variations. A common theme I've noticed is how people say 'I couldn't live with ____' whatever the weather patter might be for another area that they don't live, me included.

Me, I didn't mind hurricanes, I'm given plenty of notice, sometimes a week ahead of the time its suppose to hit. Just enough time to get ready and prepared. With this whole snow thing, I've gotten a little more use to - minus the fact that I just hate the cold and the snow itself. I'm given warning of when a storm is going to hit, I might even put a blanket and flashlight in my car, and keep the tank full just in case I get stuck. . . Thats how I 'deal'.

So what about you? What do you love about your region, and what might you have a hard time dealing with in another area? I'd love to hear.
