I recently took a new job at a dental office in our area. It was something I was looking and praying for. I wanted to work less hours, and make more money. That kind of job had to be out there, I mean I know everyone wants to work less and make more, right? After a few months of casual looking, and a few weeks of really looking hard I found this new position!
Yesterday was my first real day, with patients - I'd been in a few other times to train, but this time it was the real deal. What if I messed something up? What if I didn't know the answer and someone got upset? I hate first days of anything - for me its the fear of the unknown and how things are going to be. I hate the anticipation on what might happen!
Thankfully everything went well. There is great group of ladies who have been so helpful. They know I'm new to this field, and didn't just through me out there and say 'figure it out!' or 'Hope you know what your doing, live and learn.' No, they have provided me with info, and cheat sheets of this new terminology, they have been close by and said 'ask questions if you don't know.'
It got me thinking, as a Christian, am I doing that? Am I being helpful and understanding to my non Christian, or new Christian, friends? Isn't it our jobs, as those who believe in Christ, to want others to know Him and make it as simple as it really is? To know Him and make Him known to others. Its that simple? I can always do a better job, I think. I can always be more patient and explain something again. Isn't that how Christ is with us, and shouldn't we be like that with others? Your thoughts - I'd love to hear.
