I just finished up this great devotional from Youversion.com - btw this is one of my favorite apps, I use it all the time! - called Living Light 25 days. Each day was a one sentence thought and a verse passage to read. Thought provoking, insightful and challenging. I really encourage you to get this app, and if you already have it, check out this plan!
I wanted to share a little challenge I took away from one of the days. The question was:
'How do you live out your love for God?'
Deuteronomy 6:5 'And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength.'
I've read this verse so many times before, but this time something clicked. I started thinking, if I'm living my life %100 to and for God, I wouldn't have time to worry about silly things, be angry and hold on to past hurt and continue to feed into the grudges I've created. All the energy I have would go right to Christ, and loving Him with All of myself! There wouldn't be any time for the other petty things of life.
Ouch - But wow! What a great reminder, that He - God - created us to be in relationship with Him. And He wants us to Love Him with everything that we are! He doesn't want us to worry about or meditate on anything else but Him. Imagine how less stressful life would be if we put more energy into loving God with everything that we are!? I would bet that it would be a little more fulfilling and peacful that how I'm living mine now
My challenge to myself is this - to Love God with ALL my heart, ALL my soul, and ALL my strength - with my Whole Life I want to Love Him!
