I might have just jinxed myself by saying that - but Kaia and I have! Yesterday, we went out to Long Island w/ a friend to the wal-mart! Let me just say, nothings makes me - or her, our friend - feel more @ home, than going back to the burbs, and going to wal-mart! We had a great time, and Kaia did so good, I'm so proud of what a good baby/little girl she is. Plus I really enjoy creating, and developing friendships. It was great just spending time together, enjoying one anothers company. And we had a great time in wal-mart! =D
Before we headed out on out big trip, my sweet little neighbor came by to drop off a gift for Kaia's big day. What a sweet lady - I love her! Shes always bringing me some kind of sweet Columbian bread. And shes a joy to chat w/. She always say 'Rebecca' in her thick accent 'what a kind girl you are, you don't care that my english no good, that I am from Columbia! God bless you!' She treats me like gold - but what I love the most is having the chance to show her kindness, and respect. It seems like shes had some bad experience in the past w/ people judging her b/c shes Hispanic. If you understood how silly that is to me, considering where we live! No one in my neighborhood is from here! Anyway, shes a sweet lady, and such a blessing to me, that I am able to be a friend to her.
So all that was yesterday - Today! Some of Marks family is in town on vacation, and so this afternoon, I was a tourist in my own city! I headed into meet them @ their hotel, but they couldn't check in till a little later, so off to the ESPN Zone we went. I'm not complaining @ all -it was rather toasty here today - so being inside was fine by me, but I just had to laugh. The ESPN Zone is in the middle of Time Square, an area that I try to avoid @ all cost. It was so nice to see them though! I miss them - and seeing them see Kaia, I loved it! They couldn't believe how BIG shes gotten. I hate that we live so far, @ times like. I just do my best to make the time we have w/ them the best, and enjoy every minute of it.
We have 3 more days to this week - I hope that the rest are just as good as the first 2! I'm glad to be home, back in my own city, back to our routine, and back to our life - Life is good
