As the holidays are fast approaching and we are getting into a full swing of things, I've been thinking over years past and my feelings toward this time of year. I've never really like christmas. Growing up it was one thing, but after we moved to NY it was for a totally different reason. I knew that the long winter was settling in, and it would be a long time before life would be seen again. So whatever the reason, whatever the age, never been a big christmas kind of girl. Sure, I love being around family and all the good food, but the stress that came along w/ it seemed to ruin it for me. Thats why I love Thanksgiving so much - same thing as christmas, just not as much stress!
This year is completely and totally different! I couldn't believe it when two weeks ago I was craving christma music and enjoying all the decoration that have been going up all over the city. Watching the tree and Rockefeller Center go up - even though its not light - knowing that Thanksgiving - the BEST holiday of them all! - is only next week and we get to go to Buffalo and see family and friends. I'm ecstatic! And I'm even surprised @ my behavior! Maybe its just my old age, and understand what is really important, maybe its just letting go of the past and old feelings/memories, maybe its just being in the City for this time of year. whatever it is, I'm looking forward to celebrating Thanksgiving w/ family, and enjoying everything that comes along w/ this time of year - I'm also looking forward to enjoying the christmas season. Its been a while sense I've looked forward to this, and it feels nice, right, and what its suppose to be like. And through all this, I am/ and will continue to enjoy the wonderful sounds of holiday music.
On a different note we are still looking for an apartment - we're going to find one! I have faith that it will happen, it has to happen. I have an appointment to see one today, we'll see. Its harder this time to find something, although I feel like it will be easier to adjust to living space this time around. We know what the average size of things are, and it can't be too much difference from what we are in now! Hopefully soon, I'll have some great news and picture to post about our new place - we'll see : )
