For those of you who live in the greater metro are of this wonderful city we call NY you probably have your very own story, shocking moment, or interesting sighting while riding w/ millions of other NY'ers. I thought I had my own stories, I thought I'd experienced a little bit in my time here - I was so wrong!
Kaia and I had a play date w/ some friends we were meeting @ Harold Square. The F train goes there, and aren't I luck to live off the E/F line, I just had to get on the F and a few stops later we'd be there. I should prefice this by saying that I couldn't sleep the night before, and once I did get to sleep I had a crazy dream that I was in a plain crash! Our morning was going good though, Kaia was in a great mood, and even while waiting for the train she was happy.
The F comes and we get one. 2 stops later is when our ride on the F really became something more. . . A man got on, who was clearly not all w/ it, w/ a hot cup of tea, and a cigar in his hands - yes, thats right a cigar that you smoke, which he proceeded to light up and attempt to smoke. I thought I was lucky and glad to have gotten a seat - it was kid of a crowded car - and even better one on the end which is nice when I have Kaia w/ me. But this man comes and stands right next to me, with his lit cigar!! I was pissed! A man on the train had said to him don't lit that, you can't do that - but clearly this man didn't have all his screws in place, or even had all his screws to begin w/! I looked up @ him and said something like why are you doing that? I have a baby here, do somewhere else w/ that! His response to me was anything but compliant, and the few words that I could make out that he said were anything but apologetic. The best part happens next - he proceeds to try and reach in the stroller and touch Kaia - If my blood wasn't boiling enough by that point, I was then. I smacked his hand away before he reached her. If there is any link to us being related to bears I would believe it! I wanted to attach this guy, or move or something, but like I said before it was a crowded car and there wasn't really any place for me to go.
I should have gotten off @ the next stop - but I didn't - and this guy continued to bother not only me, but the girl I was sitting next to, and another girl on the train. I have no doubt in my mind that if this man was really to have gotten out of control someone would have done something - there was another man who said something to him about lighting up again. He was really being more of an annoyance than a threat, none the less not someone I want to be stuck on a train car w/. I did get off at the next stop and waited for the next F train, but by the time I reach my friend I broke down. I was so angry - @ what I'm not real sure, Kaia and I were fine - and upset, maybe it was just the fresh air and familiar face that I saw that made me realize how upset I was!
Needless to say, we are both fine, and our trip home was anything but dull and boring - just the way I like it! I was upset w/ myself that I didn't get off @ the next stop when I realized how crazy this man was, and I was even more upset @ having to listen to another guy, on the same train, go on and on about how Christ is coming soon, blah blah blah. And I'm a Christian! He should have come down to my end of the train and talked to the guy causing all the problems! So I had to listen to two crazies for the two longest stretches on the F line! Really? Its never a dull moment here in the city and there's always something to see, or hear!

'New York! These street will make you feel brand new . . . ' you just have to get above ground and to the streets to feel that way ; )

Uggg, that subway ride sounds terrible and I'm sorry you had to go through it. Crazy people on the subway are the worst because there is no where to go. Randy hates smoking so much, I can only imagine what he would've said to that guy. Glad you came out of it okay.
