Thats whats always in the subject line of the weekly emails that I get from our church - and I just wanted to share what my last 2 weeks have been like '@ the journey'.
Our wonderful, dedicated, organized, and always dependable coordinators have both been out for the last 2 weeks. It was planed, but I have missed them greatly! I know what a great job they do, and I knew they did a lot, but 1/2 way filling their shoes has been an eye opener to myself as to what all they REALLY do!

THANK YOU SARAH AND ROSE FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK!
My job the last weeks, I have been registering all the kids that come to Journey Kidz - I check them in, meet the parents, and give them name tags - and its been nice to see and meet, who goes w/ who. Last week being Easter we had 26 kids! Thank you to all of you who volunteered, we could not have done it w/o you! I mean it! As great of a week as that was - this is the week I wanted to high light. B/c this week, we had a family, who came for the first time last week, come back! And the grandparents came w/ them! Both of their little ones stayed in Journey Kidz the whole time this week. They had a good time, and I'm hopeful that they will come back.
The reason I wanted to high light this family is b/c the little ones only speak spanish - parents are bilingual - but the 2 little ones only speak spanish. Last week, the older one didn't want to stay by himself, and the dad ended up staying and just playing w/ his son, but this week, the little boy stayed and the girl who was teaching his age group speaks spanish. I don't speak any spanish @ all! I'm completely useless in that area. Just to show you how wonderful it is that we have great volunteers, that w/o them we wouldn't be able to do what we do! As soon as the little boy realized that she spoke spanish he was fine, and such a sweet heart. I was glad that the parents could enjoy the service, and relax knowing that their kids were being taken care of and then they even felt comfortable!
Another plus to this great day today, is that the tear down went smoothly and rather fast - Mark even commented on it. God is good, and doing some great things in Queens and I'm so glad that when I volunteer that I know that others are going to be there too - its not just a 1 man thing, it would never get done that way! - and together as a team, we all work toward the same goal. Making it the 'best hr of a kids week', @ least in regards to journey kids.
I'm so proud of Mark, and all that he does for our family, and I'm so proud of the teams of people that come out every week to be apart of something bigger than themselves. I know - as his wife - that having a good team together on sunday makes his week, it makes mine too : ) I hope that b/c of all the great team players we have that this family, the one I was talking about, will continue to come and feel welcomed here. . . . . So, this week @ the journey, was a great week, and I'm looking forward to the weeks to come as we continue to grow and reach people and families in our area!
