I was trying to fix dinner last night - chicken and potatoes, w/ a little soy sauce, to be backed in the oven - and while cutting the potatoes I sliced not 1 but 2 of my fingers! Good job Rebecca.
Kaia's first reaction to my reactions was - in a very concerned voice - 'mommy, ok? Mommy hurt finger!?' As soon as I felt what I had done, I turned to the sink and went down to my knees - just in case I might pass out - and stuck my left hand under ice cold water. Kaia came and stood by my side, wondering if everything was really ok. I called my neighbor and she came to my rescue w/ all the first aid stuff.
Mental note to self, I might want to go out and get some of that for next time, just in case this happens again, ugh.
I was a little worried that I might have needed stitches, but I didn't. Its a pretty deep cut, not wide. I wrapped it up, and changed it once and I think we'll be ok - but I hate having gauze wrapped around my middle finer, makes it hard to do things. . . like everything! Heres to a fast healing, and hopefully I'll be able to air it out a little tonight. . . Have I mention I don't like being hurt?
this is not my finger - just a picture of one. mine looked a little worse

The only added bonus to this is that I wasn't able to wash the dishes, or bathe the babes last night : ) my right hand is thankful for that! Maybe I can treat myself to a mani in a few days to help the healing process : )
ouch! hope you're feeling better. i sliced myself on glass 2x during a particularly klutzy week i was having a couple months ago. hurt SO bad! take a look at this other mommy blogger's recent kitchen mishap (you will count yourself lucky!): http://beingmrsjones.com/2011/01/emergency/ and http://beingmrsjones.com/2011/01/update/)
