Yesterday was a big day in the life of our church in the Brooklyn location. They have moved locations and are now right off the biggest hub in Brooklyn, Atlantic Terminal. I took the girls last night tot he first service in the new space and it was great. I was glad to be able to be apart of whats happening there, I don't get down there as often as I'd like, just w/ it being a little far and a bad time to have the girls out so late. I will say that our trip there was easy and supper fast, thank you to the LIRR!
I was in w/ the kids in Queens so even more of a reason I wanted to make it to Brooklyn, to hear and be in the service. There was even a great rendition of 'Livin' On a Prayer'! Mark kicked off a new series - Vertical Talking to God - and talked about how God wants to have a relationship w/ us, He wants us to talk to Him and share w/ Him all the things that are going on in our life. At the end of the service we wrote on post-its the areas we wanted/needed to give over to God and stuck them on a Cross.
I love doing physical acts of surrender - even if just symbolic - to God in the areas of our life. Its a freeing exercise for sure!
