Mothers Day

I was thinking about not posting today - b/c it is Mothers Day - but I enjoy doing this, and so as part of my MD (mothers day) gift to myself I'm going to!
Last week while we were in NC w/ my family I thought maybe I should have been done something wonderful and exciting for my own mother. Instead I made her drive 2 hr to pick up and drop off the girls and I - Happy Mothers Day mom! Although we didn't do anything to celebrate MD, it was nice to just be together w/ her.

This weekend Marks parents were down and it was great to visit w/ family more. And again, although we didn't do anything just for MD it was nice to be together. I did receive some very nice gifts, a little cash, and a nice Sap gift certificate from my very wonderful hubby ; ) Can't wait to use that!
This morning @ church was a nice one - the message was on families and there were all kinds of special things going on - 5 baby dedications, free books, a spa give away, and professional pics! I hope this years picture of our family will be better than last year - it was AWFUL last year, I deleted it as soon as I looked @ it, and we don't ever get pictures as a family - I'd love to use it, and put it up somewhere.

Another BIG thing that took place was the moving of our neighbors up stairs. For those of you who may not know - they have been something else to say the least sense we moved in. Up at all hours of the night, letting their 3 young girls run around the apt till 2 or 3 in the am, the obnoxious jumping that went on and on all day and into the night, the repeated letters I sent to our management co, the encounter I had w/ the mother of the house which turned out to be of no use after asking if they could please keep it down . . . The issue I had the most w/ them was that the noise would go on into the night, and wouldn't stop till way after midnight. Its annoying.

This afternoon when the girls and I got home from church there was a moving truck out front of our building, and I thought wouldn't that be great if it was them moving?! Of course I didn't really think it was, that would have been too good to be true. But once we got into the apt the sound of things moving and something that kept rolling out the door was all I hear all afternoon. . . I was holding my breath. It wasn't until I ran into our Suppers wife and asked her what was going on did I get the final word that yes, indeed they did move out!

I should clarify a few things, I wasn't sure what nationality they were, I knew they were not Russian, or Jewish, or Hispanic, or European. My guess was they were Israeli. No, they were Egyptian. Now, I'm a little afraid that whoever comes next might be just as bad. I'll be doing a lot of praying for our new neighbors, for the right people to come along, maybe ones that know how to live in an apt setting - ie they know that we will hear EVERYTHING.

So that was my Mothers Day. How was yours? Anything exciting, or unexpected happen? I hope you - who are mothers - were blessed and honored by your families, and that you might have even gotten a little rest!
Happy Mothers Day!

  1. Happy Mother's Day Rebecca, I hope you got an ecard I sent. Glad to see you enjoyed your special day, with an added bonus of noisy neighbors moving! I had a nice meal with the sons, where Chris is chef: He cooked and Casey treated us! And flowers from the hubs arrived Friday. We are blessed women!
