I know that this post is a day late - even more reason to be thankful for those of you who read and follow along!
But today - Saturday - I want to express my very deep heart filled thanks for our friends.
Friends that have been in my life for just the right season, for the friendships that I never saw coming and the ones that I selfishly wanted so badly. For the friendships that have been around sense my elementary days.
I'm thankful for the over flowing of blessing that our friends poured out for us in NYC - from my El Salvadorian neighbor down the hall in our apartment building and the hospitality she and her husband showed to us, our dear friend who made several early morning pick ups and late night drop offs at JFK and all the play dates we had with her. Of course there is the friend who came and watched Kaia for all of my Dr appointments while I was pregnant with Olivia and who also came over to be in the middle of the night and allowed us to use her car to get to the hospital the morning we had Olivia! And all the wonderful talks and chats we had in between. My first growth group leader and our friendship that blossomed from our first time together at Penera. My dear friends from the park who I lived to see every day that made it worth it for me to get out, not just the sweet babies who were also friends to the girls. For my best friend whom I've known for ever, and all the times shes been there for me. Our friendship who welcomed us back to the Buffalo area with open arms and no questions asked.
To those who supported us and prayed for us over the years, who have invested into our lives. There are so many of you who have made our life enjoyable by knowing you! Recently I was looking back in my journal and I found an entry where I was asking God to please bring some friends into my life, and shortly after I meet one!
Proverbs 17:17
A friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need.
Your turn, whats a friendship that has meant a lot to you. Maybe one that was just what you didn't think would happen, or you found in an unlikely way. I'd love to hear it!
