What are the two big things your not suppose to talk about in social settings? I mean the BIG ones that no one wants you talking about?
Religion and Politics
I'm talkin about Politics today!
With all this political stuff in the news with the GOP candidates, and choosing who's going to be on the ballot come September - that's when we vote, right? - CNN, and MSNBC and everyone else is talking about this, why can't I?
I'll go ahead and make it very clear that I'm not much of a political person, I know a little, enough to have some kind of an opinion if the topic ever does come up. However I'm not really that interested in it. Why? Because I think politics is a joke. I think it doesn't really matter what I say, its about what those who are in Washington already think that really matter and who make things happen. Just putting a disclaimer out there, these are just my personal thoughts and opinions, you don't have to agree with them.
I was watching the New Hampshire primary elections and I think I've picked out who I'd like to see on the ballot. I like Ron Paul, I like how real he seems, I like his platform - less government, and more responsibility for the individual states, and his view on the massive debt we have. I don't know much more about him - other than what my little sister has to say about him - but I think I like him, and I think I agree with what he stands for.
So why is it we can't talk politics? I mean, I talk enough religion/faith here, why not become a political thinker too? We'll see, probably not very much, like I said I don't really like the topic myself. However seeing as we are in an election year, I'm sure this topic and my opinion will be brought up a few more times.
What about you, do you like this topic of politics? I won't ask anymore about that for now ; )
