Its Always Something

Isn't that life?! There is always something that comes up, or something to do, or someone to care for, or a 'fire' to put out?
Life is always moving, going, turning, and evolving. Our lives are no different.
It doesn't have to be a huge change, like a big move, addition of a new family member, or changing careers. It can be the little things, a birthday, starting school, living with small children - its something new every day!

Have you ever really watched little ones? From day to day there is something new to see, a new obstacle to conquer, a new food to try. As they grow their view point changes. They go from rear facing infants to forward facing toddlers. From high chairs to a big seat at the table. Can you imagine what a difference a few inches can make?!

Mothering our girls is amazing to watch. I recently set up our video monitor again. From our move out of NYC, while we were staying at my In-Laws I hadn't set it up. I wasn't sure witch box it was in to even use! Let me say that what we are watching on that little black and white monitor has changed drastically from the last time we turned it on! There is a whole world of communication that takes place in their bed room before sleep rests on the two little beds in there. A whole world that only sisters could understand, and a parent can be captivated to watch.

New things scary me - amazingly I like routine and things being the same. I don't like to shake things up, I like smooth easy transitions, and I really hate doing something new. This might be a shock to some of you - maybe even to myself for admitting it! We will be entering a new time in our lives over the next few months and I'm afraid of the rejection that might come along with it, I'm afraid of the 'what if's' I just want to know how things will work out.
Thats not the way life is though. I'm not sure we are suppose to know. If we knew how things would be, why would we need to Trust God before, during, and after those tricky times? I think God enjoys walking with us through the unsure times we go through in life. I look at it like I look at the relationship with our girls, when we know what is best for them, and we know what the end of a certain thing might be, we get to hold their hand and develop our relationship with them, deepening it - just like I think the Lord does with us.

Your turn - what are your thoughts? I'd love to hear!

*I would like to note that the changes I'm speaking of are NOT that we expecting, and that we are NOT moving. Just to clarify*

  1. I feel you on this! It seems like things are always in flux. I always say I understand life has its ups and downs but I would love a good solid few months with no drama. PLEASE LORD! LOL! Also, I like how you had a disclaimer at the bottom of your post ;-)
