Sunday Funday

This past sunday one of my little ones was out of commission - sporting a fever all night - keeping us from getting to church. The other little one had a birthday party to attend the same day, and so instead of going to church we ran to Target to grab a gift for the birthday girl. I was amazed at the trafic! I know this might sound kind of silly, but I don't get out for any other reason mainly on a Sunday other than to go to church.

It is a way of life for us, not just something we do on the weekends, but something I look forward to be part of. My church is a family to me, it is an venue that I get to pour into others when I serve and a way that I can be refilled when I need it. When I'm not able to attend I feel as though I'm starting my week off not quite full.

To me my faith and church are part of my routine, like grocery shopping. It is something that I need in my life. Yes my faith is a personal thing, its my own responsibility. A great example of church for me is like exercise for staying in shape. Eating right is part of it, but if I don't do anything else it will not  produce the results that I want - an over all healthy life style.

I am very thankful that there are great churches all over the country that have their service online and that I can still be part of a service even from my comfy couch! The Hubby and I enjoyed watching Church of the Highlands service last night. Very challenging and engaging - so even though I wasn't able to be part of my local church, I'm thankful that I was able to gain some wisdom and be challenged and start my week off right.

What do you love about your local church, what is an area you serve in, how do you give back and build those relationships at your church? I'd love to hear. If your interested in hearing that message from Church of the Highlands you can here - Its a good one!
