Not the Red Letter

I am reading this book, and like the last three that I've read of hers, I was sucked in, from page 1 and can't put it down. Except to of course write this little post and then I'll have it in my hands again!

After becoming a mother, issues, and topics, of child abuse and neglect pull at my heart and create a sickening nauseous feeling in my stomach. I can't watch SVU, and watching the news these days puts me over the edge most of the time. I want to run to our girls and hold them tight and never let anyone look at them again. I want to keep them safe and out of harms way at all cost. . . I know, totally unrealistic. I have momma bear syndrome. I may not look like much, but try to come close to my girls w/ the wrong intentions and you'll see.

Back to the book - the prologue starts out hitting me with the question of weather or not I'm going to keep reading. Rivers is an amazing writer, and shes good at descriptions, shes good at setting the tone. Shes almost too good. After I got past the first 44pages, I was able to breath and swallow a little.

This story is so precious, so dear, and a picture of pure Love that I had to trudge through. I'm glad I have. I'm on page 277, and there are about 200 pages to go. I'm hoping to finish it by this weekend.  The story is taken right out of the book of Hosea, I would strongly encourage you to pick this one up - true love story, filled with forgiveness, and grace.

What about you - are you reading anything amazing right now, or have you recently? Whats a great read for you?
