I want to do this with my life. I want to effect others in a positive, encouraging and supportive way. I want to know that my life matters and that I can make an impact in others loves. I want the validation that I can do something great and accomplish something amazing!
Don't we all? Isn't this a driving force that pushes us all? If you are a Christian chances are probably good that you look to Christ for this direction, and for what and how to use the gifts He has put in your life. I think God puts this pull in our lives that we might seek Him for direction. That we might - daily - look to Him for guidance and seek Him for strength and purpose.
Lately I've been dissatisfied with my role. I want to be a stay at home mom. Thats what I have been for the last three years, with our back to this area I have had to go back to work. I know this is just a season, and hopefully I will not have to do it forever, but its still hard. This is what I know how to do, this is what I want to do - if only I could get paid to stay at home!
So here is the question - can I still make a difference even if I'm not where I would love to be 100% of the time?
Of course!
I have to make a choice to make the most of where I am right now - be it at home with the girls, and my family, or where ever I might be employed and receiving a pay check. In my perfect world I would be able to stay home and we would have plenty of family time, and more than enough to cover all of our bills.
Until then, I will try to make the most of where I am, seek the Lord for how I can serve Him and make a difference in others lives! What about you? How do you use your talents and gifts to impact others and make a difference? I'd love to hear!
