I like things neat. I like the clean look of a room/area/shelf. I feel much better when things are picked up put away and in their place. When I'm in a clean neat, and tidy area I am able to breath at ease and feel relaxed - don't we all though?
*Use your space - things you use the most should be the most accessible, if you don't need or use it everyday, it doesn't need to be front and center.
When the things in our lives are orderly and put away, I believe that our lives can run smoother. Who doesn't want your life to run smoother?! We all do, especially children that crave structure and routine. I would say that being organize goes way beyond pretty looking rooms and 'things' its a way of life and it can be achieved.
Thoughts? I'd love to hear them - whats your most frustrating area in your house to get organized, or keep organized?

Recently in my MOPS group one of the girls from our group talked to us about the big 'O' word - Organizing. I love this session! Last year - you can read that post here - I went home after she spoke and cleaned out a whole room, donated a bunch of things, and started looking at this daunting task through new lens! I was so excited to keep going and do life totally differently.
After we moved into our house, I was determined to maintain our space. To use the space we have to the best possible use, create a home for everything - and what didn't have a home, to get rid of it. I was able to do some of that, but don't feel I've maintained it.
So this year, after our organization talk, I asked our speaker, a girl that also attends our MOPS group, if she would come help me with some of my problem areas. She did - wow! What a difference having someone with an organized mindset can bring for my space! Her point of view and suggestions were priceless - she gave me some new insight on how to use my space and asked some good questions, like why is this here and not in another place/space?

So where do you get started? I don't think - and I'm no expert - that organizing has to be an expensive thing. Everything you do thats new to you or your routine just takes a first step, commitment, and experiment.
*Things need to be Contained - everything needs to have a home to live in, a place to go back after its been used.
*Things need to go - I get rid of/donate the same number of things when I get something new. With my clothes and the girls toys, other wise I'd be over run with things.*Use your space - things you use the most should be the most accessible, if you don't need or use it everyday, it doesn't need to be front and center.
